Archive Collection

The archive collection of the MUHM is divided into two document groups: the first one is made of 73 Memorialists, Practitioners and Physicians Personal Private Funds that are somehow involved in the history of Rio Grande do Sul’s Medicine. The second one is made of three Institutional Funds, represented by SIMERS’s Permanent Archive, and material from two associations, the Alegrete Medical Association (AMA) and the Conceição Hospital Physicians Association (AMEHC).
 
Among the Private Personal Funds documentation, some XIX century records stand out, like, Austrian physician, Gabriel Schlatter’s ticket of his coming trip from Germany to Brazil, as well as his Berlin University diploma. Regarding the institutional material, the museum holds the Deliberative Council Minutes and SIMERS’s Bulletins, that take us back 1931, the year of its foundation.
